Ana G. Méndez University System, Continental U.S. Campuses

Introduction

In 2003, SUAGM took its first step outside of Puerto Rico with the establishment of the Metro Orlando Campus in the city of Orlando, Florida. This was followed by campuses in South Florida, Tampa Bay, Maryland, and Dallas. All five branch campuses offer the only bilingual program in Higher Education, the Discipline-Based Dual Language Immersion Model® which gives Hispanics the ability to learn not only the tools for a new career, but to be proficient in a second language, without leaving behind their native language.

The model offers a curriculum tailored to achieve rapid results, allowing students to earn an associate, bachelors, or master’s degree in areas like; Business Administration, Accounting, Education, Marketing, Health Sciences, among many others, as they become proficient in English and Spanish.

From its humble beginnings, SUAGM has grown to be an international organization offering Hispanics of every background the opportunity to become bilingual professionals. Given that this demographic group is the fastest growing in the United States, the importance of bilingualism in the 21st century job market cannot be overseen. In this way, SUAGM’s expansion is the key for many Hispanics who want to finish their studies and become dual language professionals in order to improve their quality of life and have better opportunities in this multi-cultural business environment.

The campuses serve its community and serve as a bridge to fulfilling initiatives in serving Hispanic adults in the United States and Latin America. All degrees are offered in the accelerated approach format developed by SUAGM’s School for Professional Studies.
