Introduction
The course aims to respond to the current societal challenge of sustainable water management in the urban cycle, always bearing in mind the issues associated with global change (climate and anthropogenic) and the current drought scenario. In this sense, the programme is based on three main pillars: urban water infrastructure, sustainable water management (origins, quality, uses and reuse) and water governance (economics, policies and regulation).
Objectives
- Enable professionals with different training bases, to work in teams, cross-and multidisciplinary ways, answering to the new challenges in the urban water cycle, in a global change scenario.
- Qualify the students to develop expertise in the different areas of urban water infrastructure, sustainable water management (origins, quality, use and reuse) and water governance (economic, political and regulatory)
- Training students to meet different geographical realities, preparing them to participate in water management locally, nationally and internationally.
