Introduction
Este máster está integrado en el Programa Erasmus Mundus y está diseñado por las principales universidades europeas en el campo de la agricultura sostenible, lo que proporciona una enseñanza de alto nivel con las últimas actualizaciones. Con este título, los graduados obtienen la cualificación necesaria para hacer frente a los retos actuales y del futuro en la gestión de la sanidad vegetal en relación a la seguridad alimentaria global.
La gestión de la sanidad vegetal es un tema clave del desarrollo mundial en materia de seguridad alimentaria y preservación del medio ambiente. Con el aumento de la globalización y el cambio climático, enfermedades nuevas y plagas amenazan la producción agrícola. En muchos lugares del mundo, los productos fitosanitarios no se utilizan de acuerdo con las regulaciones de seguridad avanzadas.

Admissions
Curriculum
1st year
- 60 ECTS (compulsory subjects on basic aspects). You can study at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) or Università di Padova (Italia). Classes are in English.
2nd year
- First quarter: 30 ECTS for specialization. In the first quarter of your second year, you must study at one of the host universities, which must be different from that in which you completed your first year and will depend on the specialization you want to obtain. Teaching is in English, except at French universities, where it is in French.
- Second quarter: 30 ECTS for the master's thesis.
Master's double degree
- Students will obtain the degree of the host university and that of their original one.
Specializations
Each of the universities provides a specialization:
- Universität Göttingen (Germany): specialization in temperate, herbaceous, and energy crops.
- L'Institut Agro and AgroParis Tech (France): specialization in tropical horticulture and temperate vegetable crops.
- Università di Padova (Italy): specialization in temperate fruit crops, ornamental plants and landscape.
- Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain): specialization in Mediterranean crops in orchards and greenhouses.
Program Outcome
The main aim of this course is to train highly qualified professionals to manage crop protection methods that are safe within a sustainable agriculture framework, both in developed countries and in developing countries.
This master's degree programme is attractive and innovative and will allow students to develop the ability to see plant health in a broad context, with a focus on sustainability, taking into account all the relevant agronomic factors: plant variety, nutrition, soil tillage, crop rotation, etc.
Students will gain skills for, and an advanced knowledge of, mycology, virology, entomology, nematology and weed control science, to efficiently analyse or diagnose the biotic and/or abiotic restrictions on productivity in sustainable farming systems.
