Introduction
The Master IE (International Economics) welcomes all students' applications worldwide, with at least three years of economic majors and engineering (+ economic minors) backgrounds.
The Master proposes a full training in International Economics topics (International Trade, Migration and Capital Flows, Development Economics), with a concrete formation in Econometrics to be applied on International Economics topics.
The Master's program is designed to meet the needs of the following institutions:
The private sector involved in international trade and other international operations:
One mainly finds here Multinationals from the Manufacturing and the Service sector (Consulting companies, Commercial Banks, and International Logistics and Transport).
Public or mixed Pubic-Private administrations:
In particular, all ministries and other related departments are involved in international relations, such as Trade, Finance, Development, Environment, or International Affairs. Besides, all international insurance, development, or other rating agencies are also keen on hiring some of our students anywhere in the world.
International Organizations (OECD, World Bank, WTO, IMF, European Commission, etc.…). It is important to note that access to these institutions, in general, is made possible through three different options :
Through the Concours/entry exam (European Commission, some national banks like the Banque de France, etc.)
After a Doctoral program (OECD, WorldBank, IMF, etc.), which supposes to pursue studies in or outside Tours after the Master
After some years of experience in the public or mixed administrations described above.
Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) are involved in trade, aids, development, education, or environmental programs. All these NGOs offer openings to train students and managers in developing countries and project management jobs with good economic skills to evaluate the different costs and benefits of the projects.
All of the faculty staff from Orléans and Tours are very active research members of the Laboratoire d'Economie d'Orléans (LEO).
Most of them are part of the LEO-team "International Trade and Sustainable Development". They have published in top field journals and are very active in international research networks.
The Master IE leads to many jobs related to international economics and data analysis:
Data analysis positions;
Consultancy in international institutions;
Researcher/Analyst of the international economy in the private and public sectors;
Country Risk analyst, Analyst of Macro Cycles in the financial sectors.
