The curriculum
The Master of Specialization (MAS) addresses in a scientific and interdisciplinary way the stakes of the European construction. The teaching of the Master is organized during the day, totaling 60 ECTS . The aim is not to introduce the participants to the themes proposed, but to give them the opportunity to specialize and acquire new knowledge in the field of their choice to train practitioners, decision-makers or researchers attentive to all aspects of European integration. As part of this Master of Specialization courses are shared by professors from different disciplines and / or practitioners.
The training of the Master of Specialization is built around three axes:
A fundamental module (25 ECTS), which aims to give all students the fundamentals necessary for an understanding of European integration. It consists of a series of compulsory courses determined by the jury according to the profile of the student. This platform is complemented by an interdisciplinary chair and a series of lectures. It also proposes a rotating international chair on an ad-hoc theme, determined each year according to European political news, and a series of conferences and seminars aimed at facilitating the dialogue between students and political decision-makers national and European levels.
A "research" or "professionalization" (15 ECTS). The research "TFE" (15 ECTS) involves the production of a thesis consisting of a research paper, analyzing in depth a theoretical question which may also include practical aspects of an end-of-studies work (TFE), combining, where appropriate, theoretical reflection and fieldwork. The exercise also implies the ability to present in a synthetic and clear way his results in the oral and to engage the debate with the members of the jury. The TFE "professionalisation" (15 ECTS) comprises three elements: an internship, a professionalization seminar and an internship report. The internship offers students the opportunity to acquire concrete professional experience in the field of European affairs. The professionalization seminar aims to develop a professional project and a strategy to acquire skills to prepare for integration into the labor market. Finally, the internship report includes the analysis of a problematic, the object of which is to deepen, with an external view, the observations carried out during the course and to relate them to the lessons.
A thematic module of your choice (20 ECTS)
- The module "Europe of Rights, Standards and Values" (20 ECTS) examines the normative, political, social and legal aspects of the production of these norms and values and their implications for the EU as a political space and as a global player.
- The module "Europe and Migration" (20 ECTS) examines the European and international dimension of these phenomena, focusing on the notion of border, immigration and asylum, migration control and integration policies. migrants in Europe.
- The module "European Governance and Economic Policies" (20 ECTS) focuses on the institutional and political aspects of the new European economic governance as well as on the main EU policies, competition and trade policy.
The Master offers courses in French and English . If the master is bilingual, it requires a certain mastery of the French language (minimum level B2 according to the European framework) in order to be able to access and succeed.
