Introduction
The growing technological complexity that characterizes modern agro-industrial production and supply chains requires professionals with strong engineering knowledge and systems skills. More than in other fields, there is a clear need for a strong multidisciplinary approach to managing technological innovation in agriculture and animal production, especially to increase the level of sustainability and ensure food safety.
The whole sector is innovating: in the last three years, for example, the average annual growth of Agriculture 4.0 in Italy was 104% (Osservatorio Smart Agrifood, 2021). While the research for more and more sustainability is creating new innovative forces. An area where the European Union is a leader.
This is the basis for the Master's Degree Course in Agricultural Engineering, taught in English at the Cremona Campus in collaboration with the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, which aims to train engineers working in the agro-industrial sector with a systems-oriented vision, i.e. an approach to the study and implementation of application solutions based on an overall vision of the technological aspects of the supply chain elements, on the ability to model and manage the interactions between the various components, supported by basic knowledge of the sector.
The Master's Degree in Agricultural Engineering trains specialist engineers to deal with the complexity of agro-industrial supply chain systems and the interdependence of critical elements related to the safety of the agri-food system such as planning and management of production and supply chain systems, emerging production support technologies, interaction with the environment and the territory. In order to do so, the graduate uses cross-sectoral engineering skills on the system as a whole, which allow them to guide strategic choices with the support of more specialized figures, whom they do not replace.

Program Outcome
Mission and Goals
The postgraduate program in Agricultural Engineering trains engineers operating in the agro-industrial sector who possess a system vision, i.e. an approach to the study and the implementation of application solutions based on an overall vision of the technological aspects of the agro-industrial chain. The objective is to prepare culturally and professionally highly qualified technicians able to implement the available technologies to ensure the sustainability, safety, and traceability of agro-industrial productions, to design and integrate automation, to monitor agricultural robotics systems, to use Big Data analysis and Artificial Intelligence. By using these tools, the Agricultural Engineer aims at improving yields and control over safety requirements, designing intelligent irrigation systems, at reaching the optimal economic management of farms and of the connected supply chain.
