Introduction
Enter an environment where you’ll receive a true taste of entrepreneurship. You will find yourself in the driving seat, working with real venture projects, applying your knowledge, creativity, and entrepreneurial ability in real-life settings. This master’s program, also known as the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship, offers an internationally acknowledged academic education and research output with real value-creation in an entrepreneurial setting.
The program combines an action-based learning process with strong elements of academic reflection-in-action. To make such an intense learning experience possible, Chalmers has championed an educational form that allows students to work with simulated business scenarios as well as real technology innovation and business projects. Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship was founded in 1997 and is an integrated and crucial part of Chalmers' strategy and profile as an entrepreneurial university.
You will not simply learn a topic or prepare for a career, but gain essential experience and skills by acting, creating, and reflecting. You will have the opportunity to assess innovative ideas, drive social entrepreneurship projects, start new companies, or work on entrepreneurial initiatives in collaboration with multiple large organizations.
This internationally renowned master's program will let you test and develop your entrepreneurial skills, working closely with classmates, teachers, and other professionals. You will become a key player in the realization and commercialization of new ideas and technologies and bridge the gap between research and business management. You will learn about innovation, entrepreneurship — and yourself.
One of the goals of the program is to launch real technology ventures, together with idea partners. Over the past 20 years, more than 80 ventures have been co-founded by our students within the program, in diverse areas including renewable energy, medical devices and treatments, and new materials, to name just a few. More than 70% of these startups are still running.
During the second year of your education, you will operate within a chosen track. The Technology Venture Creation track (TECH) will allow you to test your abilities as a venture creator. The Intellectual Capital Management track (ICM) will let you work with innovation management and business creation based on intellectual assets and property, while the Corporate Entrepreneurship track (CORP) will give you the chance to work with innovative and entrepreneurial projects within partner companies. By contributing to the entrepreneurial capacity of Chalmers and the wider Gothenburg innovation ecosystem, you will play an active role in one of the University’s core goals of utilization.
The high-paced, action-based nature of the course, involving lots of teamwork as well as independent decision-making, ensures that you will be ready to hit the ground running after graduation, regardless of which career you pursue.
