About BCC
The Basque Culinary Center forms a unique ecosystem where training, innovation, research, and entrepreneurship coexist with the goal of developing and promoting gastronomy, understood as the reasoned knowledge about what we eat and how we make it. Located in San Sebastián since 2011, it is a pioneering institution comprised of the Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences and BCC Innovation, the Gastronomy Technology Center.
The Basque Culinary Center's Board of Trustees is made up of chefs, institutions, and companies and constitutes the organization's governing body. The Basque Culinary Center's International Council also includes the most prominent international chefs.
The Basque Culinary Center is an organization that is responsive to the challenges facing society. It has a Strategic Sustainable Development Plan that aligns with the challenges set by the SDGs. This plan also encompasses the organization's equality plan.
The BCC contains a Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences located in Donostia-San Sebastián attached to Mondragon University and a Centre for Research and Innovation in Food and Gastronomy, which is a unique project in Europe.
It is a living Faculty where food enthusiasts and catering professional live side-by-side, where events, series of conferences and seminars and cultural events are organised.
In a unique building that has won several awards, equipped with the best facilities so that students can learn in the most effective and practical way possible.
A building that blends in with its surroundings. It projects an emphatic, innovative, suggestive and bold image. 15,000 square metres built in the middle of a campus surrounded by the landscape.
The Basque Culinary Center is located on a hillside in an area in the south of San Sebastián known as Miramón, within the Technology Park of the same name.
