The Chemical Industry major is aimed at students who seek more technical expertise particularly relevant for positions in the chemical, food-processing, fuels, rubber, or environmental protection industries. The Sectoral Management Master's program prepares highly-skilled professionals for mid-and top-level management positions in industry, industrial policy, innovation policy, commercial policy, and finance while allowing the further pursuit of academic and research careers through Ph.D. programs. In the Innovation Project Management major, students have an opportunity to gain more specific proficiency in Financial Management, Project Management, Process Management, or Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

Chemical engineering concerns itself with the transformation and processing of raw materials into useful products that we encounter in our everyday lives (e.g., packaging, plastics, food, medicine). As a chemical engineer, you will learn to understand, describe, and model various processes to design, manage, and optimize the necessary production equipment for efficient, economical, safe, and environmentally friendly process operation. You can participate in developing new materials or unique technologies based on tailored functional properties of micro-and nanostructures. An integral part of the program involves laboratory work, during which you will conduct specific research projects. The program prepares graduates to become experts with high-level knowledge in biotechnologies and bioengineering and food science, with an emphasis on food quality and safety. The broadly designed structure of this program—together with the intentional connection between chemical, biological, and engineering education—opens a wide range of career options to graduates. The program extends and deepens general knowledge gained at the Bachelor's level in biochemistry, organic and physical chemistry, biology, microbiology, food technology and analysis, and in the fundamentals in biotechnology and bioengineering. Students may hone their expertise by properly choosing elective courses.

The program prepares experts with expert knowledge of environmental chemistry, microbiology, hydrobiology, water and atmosphere technologies, decontamination technologies, and waste handling technologies. The interdisciplinary character of this program prepares graduates for careers in all areas related to environmental protection and engineering. The program provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of environmental protection and engineering, including air, water, and soil protection.

The study program “Chemistry, Technology, and Materials” consists of two specializations, “Chemistry and Chemical Technology” and “Materials Chemistry and Technology”. This program is designed as a follow-up Master's program (culminating with a Master's degree and the Czech title Ing., the equivalent of an MSc). The program builds upon prior education of graduates with bachelor degrees (Bc) from the UCT Prague “Chemistry and Technology” bachelor program or an equivalent bachelor program at a university or comparable institution abroad.

The program is designed for students who are interested in studying basic chemical disciplines. The study of the specialization Organic Chemistry provides students with a comprehensive education in the field with an emphasis on mastering the methods of synthesis of organic compounds; understanding the mechanisms of organic reactions; and with overlap into physical, analytical, and organometallic chemistry and catalysis. An important part of the program is experimental work in the laboratory, through which students acquire practical skills and the ability to pursue independent scientific work.

Within the follow-up master study program Civil Engineering - Environment of Buildings, students are prepared for application in the areas of designing and realization of technical equipment of buildings (sanitary facilities - water supply, sewerage, heating, air conditioning, cooling), design of energy efficient and intelligent buildings, design and assessment of healthy indoor environment and energy auditing.

The two-year master's degree in Architecture and Construction is a continuation of the four-year bachelor's degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering in the same field of study. The emphasis in the master's study is on architectural design and building disciplines, which are an integral part of every construction work.

Masters in Control of Machines and Processes as a graduate of the master's study program Machine and Process Control, you will gain the knowledge necessary for the design of technological process control and production lines. Knowledge of automatic control, applied mechanics, electronics, microprocessor technology, and signal processing will allow you to optimize the design of control algorithms for the technological process.

Master in Mechatronics is the up-to-date connection of fine mechanics, electronics and intelligent computer control systems. Each modern product can be practically called a mechatronic system. You can find a job in mechanical or electrical engineering, robotics, biomedicine, and other related branches.

The master's in Energy Engineering study program is a continuation of the bachelor study program “Energetics and Environments”. Nevertheless, graduates of other technical programs and fields, both from VŠB-TUO and other universities, also apply for this program.

The Applied geology in the master’s study is a technically oriented geological field of study that to a necessary extent ensures all the geological research and survey activities. The study is focused mainly on the education of experts in the areas of hydrogeology, engineering geology, technical mineralogy and petrography, environmental geochemistry, deposit geology and applied geophysics.

The study program Masters in Advanced Engineering Materials, taught in English, is a follow-up to the bachelor study program in Materials Engineering. The study program is intended primarily for foreign students – self-payers. The study program focuses on a wide range of advanced engineering materials, their structure and properties, in particular the relationship between material properties and their structure, the possibilities of further material processing and various methods of material properties testing.
