The study is based on the balance of cognitive, didactic and pedagogic-psychological parts of teacher education. The graduates of Ecology subject acquire theoretical knowledge and practical (methodic) skills covering all common ecological concepts, and within this framework, they achieve a specific education in terrestrial and aquatic domains, encompassing all structural levels from molecular ecology, autecology, intra- and interpopulation interactions, towards large-scale ecology (communities, ecosystems, phylogeography). They are able to use recent analytical approaches of quantitative ecological data. The graduate is well prepared either to highly demanding research work including the relevant Ph.D. study or to professional and methodical (but legislative) work as in surveys, analyses or monitoring for state, public or commercial administration.
