Through The Danish Institute for Electronic Music (DIEM), the Academy is the only place in Denmark that offers several study programmes within electronic music. Study programmes function in concert with other music academy study programmes and the demands on students in e-music are high. The genre of electronic music includes both classical and rhythmic traditions allowing an endless space for creativity when composing music. At the same time, it builds a bridge between two latter genres at the Academy. The MMus (Electronic Composition) degree course at The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, is a course during which students acquire specialist knowledge, skills, and qualifications to become electronic composers at the highest level and driving forces in the music business. The master's degree also prepares students for postgraduate studies at soloist or PhD level.The course structure has a constant focus on the Composition/Production subject. It aims to provide training in a range of approaches, introducing tools and techniques relevant to today’s music making, and encouraging exploration, innovation and experimentation.
