    Relying on Major of Food Science and Engineering, Food Engineering (Professional Degree) is Key Disciplines of Henan Province (Level 1), with positions for Henan Province Distinguished Professor. The research directions of this major mainly include Manipulation of Fruits and Vegetables, Food Nutrients and Health, Chemistry and Processing Technology of Polysaccharides, Tobacco Chemistry and Fragrances, Technology and Theory of Tobacco Processing, Tobacco Biotechnology, Food Quality and Safety, Quick Frozen Food, Meat Processing, Vegetal Protein Engineering, etc. The major has been approved for funding support from National Natural Science Funding of China, National 864 Projects, Henan Distinguished Researchers, and Distinguished Youth Funding. The faculties have worked as the Principle Investigators in several key research projects from National Tobacco Bureau. The researchers in the major have published more than 100 research papers annually, among which more than 30 have been indexed by SCI and EI. More than 20 research achievements have been rewarded including Provincial/Ministerial Second Prizes. Tens of millions of profits have been created.

    Electrical engineering is a subject that studies the generation, transmission, transformation, and control of electric power involving its theory, method, technology, and application in engineering. It combines electrical theory, electronic technology, control theory, and information technology together. The field of electrical engineering at ZZULI covers all the sub-regions in electrical engineering, i.e. electric machines and electric devices, power systems and automation, power electronics and electric drives, high voltage and insulation technology, electrical theory, and new technology. The research work in the Department of Electrical Engineering at ZZULI is connected with many labs and research centers, such as the Henan Key Lab of Information-based Electrical Appliances (approved by the government of Henan Province), the Zhengzhou Engineering Center (approved by the municipal government of Zhengzhou), the Dynamic Simulation Lab of Power System, and the New Energy Lab. All of them are affiliated with ZZULI. The teaching staff in Dept. EE is professional and outstanding. Currently, there are 19 full-time teachers, 7 of them are professors, 16 of them hold Ph.D. degrees, one is awarded as the National Role-Model, and 5 are elected as the Provincial Chief Academic Leaders of key discipline.

    The Department of Education of ZZU was established in January 2010. Its predecessor was the School of Education of ZZU founded in 2000. Now, the Department of Education offers two undergraduate programs: Pedagogy and Applied Psychology and five postgraduate programs: Basic Psychology, Applied Psychology, Educational Economy & Management, and Career Education. There are one educational technology laboratory and one comprehensive psychology laboratory in the department with total construction area of 1000 square meters. There is one branch library of educational books and materials in the department to meet the learning need of the types of students. It is the educational base of Henan Province. Additionally, this Department also has signed a cooperation agreement with Taiwan Mingchuan University and National Taichung University. Each year, there are more than ten students selected and sent to Taiwan for exchange. There is 40 academic staff in Department of Education, wherein 8 of them have professorship title, 30 of them have Ph.D. degree. Since the establishment of this Department, The Department of Education has placed vital importance on teaching and research. The graduates of the department have played an important role in the education of primary and middle schools in Henan.

    The School of Agricultural Sciences (SAS), established in July 2018, is jointly funded by Zhengzhou University (ZZU) and the Institute of Cotton Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ICR-CAAS). As one of the independent departments for teaching and academic activities in ZZU, the SAS is currently offering different levels of degree programs, including a Bachelor degree in Plant Science and Technology, and Master degree in Crop Science, and a Doctoral degree in Plant Biology, and as well as the Postdoctoral training program.

The Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Technology is to develop high-level talents with good scientific literacy, all-around development, a solid foundation, wide knowledge, strong ability, high quality, and the spirit of innovation. Degree recipients should master the basic theory and application skills of computer hardware and software; have strong practical ability; be engaged in computer teaching, scientific research, and application in enterprises and institutions, government agencies, administrative departments, and other units. This Master’s Degree was rated first-degree priority discipline in Henan Province, and opened in 2004, enrolled 78 people, graduated 64 of them. There are 4 research directions of database and information integration, computer network technology, embedded system and intelligent system, spatial information processing.

    The School of Fine Arts was established in 2001. With its development, the School now has a provincial key discipline: Fine Arts Studies. Also, the school has obtained a lot of awards in the national or provincial academic exhibition; published over 80 academic monographs, painting albums, and more than 200 academic papers. The school now has 48 academic staff including 8 professors, 10 associated professors, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 13 master’s supervisors. Till now, the School of Fine Arts comprises 6 departments including the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting, the Department of Oil painting, the Department of Sculpture, the Department of Art Design, the Department of Calligraphy, and the Department of Art History.
