Mercer’s Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program is designed to prepare students for careers in accounting by providing an in-depth study in the essential areas of the field. Students have the option to pursue the degree in an accelerated, one-year plan or in a self-paced format that allows flexibility for working professionals. Flexible format
The Master of Accountancy program is offered on Mercer’s Atlanta campus and fully online through synchronous classes in a flexible, self-paced format:
- Meet for your course one evening per week
- Complete an entire course in an eight-week session
- Enroll in five eight-week sessions per year
- Take two classes per term to progress through the degree program more quickly

Program Requirements
Home Programs Master of Accountancy Program Requirements
The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) curriculum prepares students for careers in public or private accounting and enables them to achieve career advancement in the accounting profession. The program also provides the educational requirements necessary to qualify graduates to sit for the Uniform CPA exam.
Foundation Courses: 0–15 hours
- BAA 510 Foundations of Accounting and Finance
- ACC 550 Intermediate Accounting I
- ACC 555 Intermediate Accounting II
- ACC 530 Auditing
- ACC 535 Individual Tax
Incoming students must demonstrate proficiency in foundational business coursework. Waiver options are available for qualified students with guidance from an academic advisor.
Core Program: 21 hours
- ACC 601 Accounting Theory
- ACC 602 Seminar in AIS
- ACC 620 Accounting & Tax Research
- ACC 621 Advanced Financial Statement Analysis
- ACC 635 Corporate Taxation
- ACC 640 Advanced Accounting Topics
