Tourism is a booming, dynamic and important industry. According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), 1 out of 10 jobs worldwide (direct and indirect) are currently allocated to the tourism industry, underlining its importance for the present job market. In the future, these numbers may even increase, as the UNWTO forecasts a steady growth in international tourist arrivals of 3,3% each year until 2030.
Within the tourism industry, events as touristic attractions have become more and more popular as tourists nowadays search for experience-enhancing activities.
The Master of Arts program in International Tourism & Event Management aims to educate future tourism and event manager in a matter that graduates are able to critically deal with processes and ideas and independently develop alternative and sustainable solutions.
The program embraces current issues of the sector, such as crisis and security management, big data and online marketing as well as experience management and design. Moreover, students will deepen their knowledge in general international management.
A key feature of this program is certainly the integrated international internship in the 3rd semester, which allows students to gain valuable international experience on the one hand and to gain actual practical work experience on the other hand. The whole program is being taught in English, underlining the international focus. The maximum number of students per semester is 20, resulting in a pleasant and familiar environment.
