International, strategic, individual: This is the master program Tourism Development Strategies (TDS) at the University of Stralsund. TDS is a Master of Science in Economics specializing in tourism. Pre-requisites
Even if you have not yet received your graduation certificate on the application deadline, you can apply for a current certificate of achievement and a certificate of current ECTS credits, the preliminary final mark and the expected closing date.
2-semester Master TDS = Applicants with a first degree of 240 ECTS credits
- Completed first degree in economics (240 ECTS credits)
- Proof of a work experience (internship) of at least 12 weeks
- (Internships during the first degree course will be credited)
- Proof of English proficiency (Level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Signing of a commitment to pay 1.850 EUR for incidental program costs (eg for excursions abroad, company visits, no tuition fees)
3-semester Master TDS = applicants with a first degree of 210 ECTS credits
- Completed first degree in Economics (210 ECTS credits)
- Proof of a work experience (internship) of at least 12 weeks
- (Internships during the first degree course will be credited)
- Proof of English proficiency (Level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Signing of a commitment for the payment of 2,100 EUR ancillary program costs (eg for excursions abroad, company visits, no tuition fees)
- Applicants from abroad: Proof of German language skills (Level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
4-semester Master TDS = applicants with a first degree of 180 ECTS credits
- Completed first degree in Economics (180 ECTS credits)
- Proof of English proficiency (Level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Signing of a commitment for the payment of 2,100 EUR ancillary program costs (eg for excursions abroad, company visits, no tuition fees)

Summary
In addition to specialist knowledge in tourism, business administration and general management, you acquire skills and methods that prepare you for the dynamic changes in politics, the tourism industry and society. Our goal is to empower you to act responsibly and independently. Therefore, we strengthen you in your social skills as well as in the development of your individual personality. Tourism and internationality go hand in hand, so that our Master's program also enhances your multicultural competence.
Our teaching concept is holistically oriented and gives you the following skills:

For all three study programs (2/3 or 4 semesters), the master's program begins in the winter semester. The course of study is consistently oriented internationally with its many projects and excursions. The subjects are taught throughout the 2-semester study program in English, in the other versions in English (85%) and German (15%). In the 4-semester program is during your 3. Semester a relevant internship (21 weeks) provided. One semester abroad is also possible. In the last semester, you will develop your Master's thesis, which entitles you to a doctorate at a university.
